Your new opportunity
Embark on the next step in your career journey as a Senior Project Officer within the Investment Facilitation team. Harness your expertise to support commercial projects and evaluate private sector proposals. The to make a significant impact by applying your project and transaction management skillset in this thrilling 6-month opportunity.
In this role, you will:
- Support the development of significant commercial projects to support privately led projects that facilitate investment, create jobs and growth in Queensland
- Assess private sector proposals for financial and non-financial support, including rapid or detailed due diligences, that consider commercial, economic and government strategic priorities
- Prepare advice on commercial, transaction and investment policy matters and advocate for the best outcomes for Government to attract create jobs and growth the Queensland economy
- Assist in the preparation of complex, well researched, and thorough documentation including business cases, policy papers, cabinet submissions, briefs, presentations, reports and submissions on matters that are of strategic importance to the department and Government.
- Support the development of complex commercial agreements that enable investment while ensuring State objectives are achieved, such as contributing to the development of term sheets and contracts with the private sector
- Support the development of appropriate support interventions by contributing to progress this work through State processes and coordination other relevant agencies
- Research, analyse and interpret current and emerging economic and industry development trends in relation to business investment
- Establish, develop and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, involving a broad spectrum of stakeholders including government agencies, industry, academia and private sector to support investment in Queensland, to facilitate investment, create jobs and growth in Queensland.
What experience you will bring:
- A strong understanding of the factors influencing private sector investment decisions, preferably developed through operating in the business investment environment.
- A proven ability to develop relationships that translate into investment outcomes.
While there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications in economics, finance, business, law or other field, and experience in infrastructure project and transaction management are highly regarded.
